Skincare As Clean As The Tasmanian Air
Entrepreneur Sarah Slatter created She & I Skin Co. with a vision to make skincare as clean as the north-west Tasmanian air in which it was dreamt up.

On Tasmania’s north-west coast, the little town of Latrobe has traditionally been known as the home of the Australian Axeman’s Hall of Fame, a Belgian chocolatier (Igor Van Gerwen at Anvers - a must-visit when in the region), and its resident platypus population. Now, it can add the genesis of a Tasmanian skincare range to its story, with the launch of She & I Skin Co. - a dream made reality by local beauty therapist, business owner and mum Sarah Slatter.

Skin health has long been an area of interest for Sarah, who began a now decades-long career in the beauty industry as a teenager. She went on to open her first business, Latrobe’s Aspire Beauty & Body, on her 21st birthday, quickly outgrowing the original premises and moving shop into the town’s main street to offer a range of services, including waxing, tinting, nails, spray tans, make-up and facials.
It was the birth of her first child - daughter Isla, now three years old - that triggered Sarah’s deeper dive into understanding the ingredients that went into her own skincare and personal care products.
“I became very conscious of the additives, preservatives and chemicals that were in food and products, because I was so concerned about how these things might be absorbed into Isla’s little body,” Sarah says. “As I did my research, I was horrified to find so many ingredients in my own skincare products that were directly harmful to my health.”
So began the She & I Skin Co. journey. Along with sister and co-formulator Ella, Sarah envisioned a range that blended the best of science with nature, producing real results without compromising on personal health and wellbeing. One cosmetic pharmacist, several iterations of a label prototype, and 16 months of clinical and consumer trials later, the range was born - a thoughtfully curated collection designed to nourish, restore and empower.

“I knew what I wanted from a skincare range, and I couldn’t find it, so I decided to create it myself,” Sarah says. “We’re thrilled to have formulated a range that is clean, results-driven, suitable for sensitive skin, and a joy to use.
“The skin is the biggest organ in your body, so by using clean skincare products that are free from nasty ingredients, you can be confident that you’re nourishing and supporting your health.”
Since its official launch in October 2024, She & I Skin Co. has found its way onto the vanities of a growing community of women around Tasmania and the country. Currently incorporating a gel cleanser, peptide serum, hydrating oil, and day and night creams, the range is set to expand in the future. But, for Sarah, the simplicity of the current range is one of its best selling points.
“My vision for the range was that it would be everything that a busy woman like me needs to care for their skin,” she says. “You can trust that our products will care for your skin, without needing to cross-check every ingredient, or follow a long and complicated routine.
“We’re excited to introduce new products in the future, but our signature set is more than adequate to consciously support your skin through every stage of life.”
