Your Guide To The Great Eastern Wine Week Festival

By Georgie Gow

Tasmania’s east coast is iconic for its white sandy beaches, scenic walks (hello Wineglass Bay and Mt Amos), and friendly locals who make your stay that little bit more memorable. Now in its 11th year, the Great Eastern Wine Week has become just as much a part of the regional landscape, showcasing Tasmania’s finest cool climate wines over four spectacular days.

At this year’s Great Eastern Wine Week Festival (23-26 October), the East Coast Wine Trail - a collection of 15 vineyards and cellar doors - is set to celebrate the winemakers, growers, producers and people behind the wine, through immersive events, tastings and behind-the-scenes experiences. Stretching along 220 kilometres of native bushland and pristine beaches, the 2025 festival is your invitation to drive one of Australia’s most picturesque road trips, and discover the stories and spirit behind the region’s outstanding wines.

Here’s our guide to making the most of four days on Tasmania’s east coast this Great Eastern Wine Week.

Finally, return to the cellar door to enjoy a glass of bubbles and a breakfast featuring local produce and Tasman Sea Salt.

Our tip: This event is likely to sell out, but we recommend visiting the vineyard over the weekend any time for pizza, wine and a ridiculously good view.
